Well, I'm going to assume that it was revolutionary for its time. As a feminist, I am pleased that this movie turns your expectations on their ear and portray a male as a sexual object. And it's nice that the creators tried to be realistic, so Gere wasn't just a "Don Juan," but rather a slave to his pimps on the run from the law.

But no matter how famous his nude scene was, it was still altogether too brief for my tastes. And it was only full-frontal in a very loose sense of the term.
