Review of 7 Boxes (2012) by Eric G — 14 Sep 2012
Toronto International Film Festival 2012. Action thriller set in the local markets of Paraguay. About a boy who is tasked with delivering seven boxes of mysterious merchandise across town; on the way, he gets chased by people who want the boxes.
It's a pretty unique story and the cinematography (the camera angles at least) are really pretty at times. The film is well-paced, and for a local Paraguayan market, there are a lot of little dangerous events that add to the suspense.
It's not my favourite movie at TIFF this year, but you can definitely see the potential in the first-time feature directors.
