Review of Zatoichi Challenged (1967) by Orlok W — 16 Aug 2012
Zatoichi Challenged starts off rather differently than most other of the series with a narration and song by Shintaro himself but the other than that, the rest of the film is typical Zatoichi cinema: great fight scenes, a great performance by Katsu, and a well-told story.
What's most commendable about the film is the final fight scene which might be Ichi's longest fight scene against a single opponent. It's truly a beauty to behold and it constitutes one of the best fight scenes of the entire series.
