Review of Yeelen (1987) by Dustin D — 24 Jan 2016
This film reminded me of Star Wars for some reason. It takes place in 13th century Mali, and is about a young man who goes searching for his Uncle, and in the process you see many different kinds of people.
Maybe it was the barren landscape that he traversed, and the period Mali costuming that made me think of Star Wars, but I found it hard not to watch the film from beginning to end. One of the 1001 Movies.
