Murray successfully pulled off the 'Raoul Duke' personality of Hunter S. Thompson. Hunter himself, being highly annoyed at the personification of his fictional character, struggled to confront the public as himself.
All expected Duke. Hunter struggled through life and has finally found peace in death. Won't we all.
