Review of Walking on Sunshine (2014) by James P — 01 Jul 2014

I have only ever walked out of one film. That is until I saw Walking on Sunshine. The moment they burst into the first musical number, I turned to the person I was with and let her know that I probably wouldn't be able to make it through the whole film.

It's a strange thing when the weakest part of a musical is the musical numbers. Every time they started singing I couldn't help but cringe, and by the time the fifth song started I'd had enough.

That being said, everyone around us seemed to be having a great time, laughing at all of the terrible jokes and tapping their feet to the poor versions of classic songs. It's hard to say too many bad things about Walking on Sunshine, because it's so clearly not for me.

If you like this kind of music in a cheesy setting you should have a good time.
