Review of Wake Up Sid (2009) by Priyanka B — 14 Oct 2009
This is the first movie I saw either Ranbir Kapoor or Konkona Sen Sharma in. They acquitted themselves nicely, and my overall impression of the movie was left really high (mainly because one of the main characters is shown to read Haruki Murakami's "Norwegian Wood").
The movie showcases what one would call the hipsters of Mumbai... overfunded, unmotivated and artistically adventurous twenty-somethings. I want the female lead's job and apartment. Generally, the movie avoids cliches.
Great cinematography.
