Review of Vital (2004) by Ryan K — 06 Jun 2007
I remember seeing this movie with Barnett at the Subway Film Festival in New York. I went in knowing that the movie was going to be very meditative, but I wasn't really that excited at the time. The film spoke to me on levels more human than personal - where is my soul located in my body, would I know someone close to me if I saw them piece-by-piece? This is definitely a movie that can come off as pompous with how deliberate each shot is staged, but nothing is wasted.
This is definitely not a movie for anyone, and I could only watch it alone.
