Review of Vamps (2012) by Danielle M — 02 Nov 2012
Fun, funny, and heartfelt. This is the kind of romantic comedy I'm interested in seeing! While some may say it is too de-fanged to enter the vampire-movie cannon, I enjoyed the light take on this touchstone on current pop culture.
Alicia Silverstone, and Krysten Ritter never step out of character as sweet vampires--a rare departure from a genre that has vampires sorely tempted and seeking redemption at every turn--and I enjoyed the fact that the movie never made fun of their idealism.
Good natured fun for people who like to believe the best of everyone, even those racist Van Helsing types.
