Review of Under the Mountain (2009) by David F — 19 May 2010
Fairly entertaining adaptation of the classic New Zealand book about two redheaded twins who are sent to live with their cousin after the death of their mother. There, they draw the attention of the sinister Wilberforce clan and have their inner powers unleashed by a mysterious old man (the dependable Sam Neill) who recruits them in his mission to destroy the evil creatures that live within the city's many dormant volcanoes.
Decent film is good looking and inoffensive for the most part, though effects are rather uneven and the story is fairly straight forward without any surprises.
