Review of Tsotsi (2005) by Rowland B — 26 May 2008
Absolutely phenomenal. A movie hasn't made me exclaim out loud in a long time, but this one had me gasping and tearing up a bit. A beautiful and wrenching story about redemption in the South African townships. Manages to keep its grit and heartwarmingness without being cliched, and never quite lets you settle down and get comfortable.
I really could have skipped the short film on the special features of the DVD, though. That was just a little too much to handle after that movie. Kick me one more time, will ya?
