Review of Tiger Eyes (2012) by Justin C — 05 Jun 2013
Even as a Judy Blume fan, this is not the kind of movie I'd normally be drawn to, but it was SO beautifully done. The images were so artfully crafted, the music pulled me in and Willa Holland was incredibly compelling.
Cynthia Stevenson's performance was absolutely brilliant and all of the supporting cast came together well. Though it tackled some difficult subject matter that runs the risk of being sappy, this film wasn't overdone at all.
It was intimate, real, funny, sweet and engaging. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see it because at first glance I might have written it off as something I wouldn't connect with. Boy would I have been wrong.
