I was in quite a lost in the very first half of the film. unlike his previous work "The Heat of the Sun", this one was made confusing deliberately, both in terms of the story plot and the message it's conveying.

I was still full of questions in my mind at the time I walked out from the cinema. However, even though it is so confusing, the ambiance and the editing of the film show that Jiang Wen is absolutely a director that is like no others.
