Review of The Return of Captain Invincible (1983) by Stephen J — 10 Feb 2010
Half musical and half insane superhero parody this movie is definitely better on drugs. Starring Christopher Lee as the infamous "El Guapo", uh I mean, "Mr. Midnight." The movie starts off in the innocent 1950's and is followed by 30 years of drunkenness and falling, on mountain tops. NO JOKE.
I pretty much hated this movie. Mainly I hated it because I think the writer has some serious and unaddressed mental and sexual deviations. Other than that though it was ok. A bit on the loopy side, even for me though. Good songs. Definitely good songs, including the large as life "BS" song. However, I'm sure that Mr. Lee's family was calling him after the screening to ask if he was feeling well.
