Review of The Nines (2007) by Kristen S — 25 Aug 2008
Amazing movie: the three leads were perfectly cast, and the movie was challenging enough to keep the audience guessing without feeling "cheated". The ending brings forth answers as well as more questions, and it's a pleasure to go back through the movie and special features to see things in hindsight.
Think Matrix,Waking Life, and Vanilla Sky, only more intimate and emotional; but not in a melodramatic way.
I see a lot of people have labeled it as "existentialist", but it is also much more than that, much in the same way as a Frida Kahlo painting is more than surreal.
