Review of The Lost Boys (1987) by Nefert M — 27 Nov 2010
A fun movie, but it's really style over substance here. As a movie with the two Coreys, it's classic, but as a film on its own, it's not really that hot. Not to say that it doesn't have anything going for it: Jason Patrick seems more like he's auditioning for a part in the Jim Morrison movie instead of acting; also the other guy from Bill N Ted is in here.
Then there's the homoerotic relationship between Haim and Patrick that always brings a chuckle or two. If you want to see what 80s horror was about, I'd much rather recommend 'Fright Night' as the ultimate example.
Still, Jaime Gertz is in this, semi-retarded, and totally hot.
