Review of The Last Waltz (1978) by John A — 05 Jun 2007
The best concert film ever made. This is an historic performance, with musical legens such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, and many more taking the stage all at once.
The Band is in top form, and Robbie Robertson lays some outstanding guitar work. Some stand-out performances are Up On Cripple Creek, It Makes No Difference, and The Shape I'm In. Van Morrison's "Caravan" is the show-stopper, with amazing showmandship in all phases of song.
This dvd is not one to miss. (Also has some great backstage commentary from the Band.).
