Review of The Kautokeino Rebellion (2008) by Knut F — 28 Sep 2008
A really good movie that gives you a glance into very real history, back to the year 1852, when it might have ment life or death, wheter you bend under forceful convert to christianity, or opposed, wanting to preserve your own culture.
A touching movie that made me cry.
So far the best movie of the ongoing year, which definitely earns a high spot in my all time favorites.
Some have commented that the Sámi in the movie were naive - yes, maybe if they were of a modern culture, but this wasn't the case.
I instantly loved the brave character that Anni-Kristiina played. It wasn't difficult at all to relate to the Sámi people, I can feel only great warmth towards them as I'm priviliged to personally know two Sámi.
I would recommend this movie to everyone, to widen the views of life.
Watch the movie, I dare you :).
