Review of The FP (2011) by Sharon A — 17 Mar 2012
This is the type of movie that you need to see with a crowd. At least you do if you want to REALLY enjoy it. I had the pleasure of seeing this at the Silent Movie Theater courtesy of Cinefamily, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Don't be fooled by what the critics say. If you go into this with an open, somewhat immature mind, you'll leave a happy dancer. The FP has some truly hilarious bits, and nearly all of them involve the hilarious and talented Art Hsu.
It knows it's strength as a ridiculous comedy, so it never takes itself too seriously. But at the same time, it doesn't ever quite devolve into a movie that is trying too hard to be funny, though it teeters on the edge.
For the ducks. [3/5 STARS] [031612].
