Review of The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2000) by Bob M — 21 Nov 2008
I remember all the hype around this doc. at Sundance when it came out. I had been intending to see it ever since, but I wish I hadn't bothered. I have seen pure informative documentaries about the PTL and their scandals, but I guess it was a new thing to see a character driven doc.
with some "humor" or something. Maybe people forget that Erol Morris exists until another Erol Morris movie comes out. Anyway, this movie was pretty turdific. It was cheesey and a glib and rather poorly made, which in doc.
terms really just means directed and edited poorly. Don't bother.
