Review of The Dry Land (2010) by Eddie M — 17 Nov 2010
I expected so much from this movie since the actors got together on a sofa to discuss how fantastic this movie was to make, but, I beg to differ. There was nothing exciting about a guy coming home from Iraq and, as expected, ends up with PTSD.
I didn't care for anyone, and I really did wish for the main guy to blow his brains out. America Ferrera was so annoying and not believable with a southern accent, that she deserved the choke hold her husband gave her.
Melissa Leo is a better actress then this throw away role. The only thing that stood out most was the loving dog. Sorry, another boring movie gets thumbs down and not a care in the world for this soldier.
There are real stories out there about coming home from Iraq. Its up to talented screenwriters to make it worth watching and listening to.
