Review of The Broadway Melody (1929) by Aj V — 12 Oct 2010
Definitely obvious that this film was made in the first days of talking pictures. Even though you could hear all the dialogue, there was very little worth saying, even counting the few clever lines. Most of the songs had no bearing on the plot as a whole and actually hindered the flow of the film.
Still, I can honestly say that I had not seen someone tap-dance on their toes until I saw this film.
