Review of The Boxer (1997) by Mark S — 20 Aug 2008
Not one of the best films about the troubles in Northern Ireland, but a good effort all the same. Director Jim Sheridan sits on the fence in regards to the film's stance on the IRA, instead looking at some of the consequences such conflict can have on normal people.
Daniel Day Lewis is excellent as the titular boxer, attempting to resume his life after 14 years imprisonment for terrorist activities.
