Review of That Evening Sun (2009) by Sv G — 31 Dec 2010
Hal Holbrook in a stuning gut-wrenching magnificant performance as an 80 year old widower who is placed in a nursing home by his son, but returns to his land and home to try and fight and reclaim what is his.
Don't expect Hallmark type schmsltz here, this is hard and real life emotions. Dixie Carter, his wife in real life plays his wife in dream sequences here, and was sadly her final role before she died.
Sad but brilliant film.
