This film is absolutely nothing like what you are expecting, I guarantee it. It switches constantly between intense, grisly Japanese gore and really confusing philosophy, but somehow it works. When we finished the film it took a good 30 minutes of discussion and reading internet reviews to even come close to understanding the meaning of anything that had happened, but I think we got there in the end.
