Review of Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971) by Terri H — 06 Dec 2008

I expected this to be enjoyable and unapologetic but what I found in this film is something draggy and non-sexy. The first scenes are shocking, and there are a couple of good moments but the rest of the film is spent on draggy and prolonged shots of Sweetback running away from the law.

And the music is tiring and quickly becomes annoying by the end. I need to watch other blaxploitation films such as Shaft, hoping that they would be better than this one.
