This is a romance movie and that getting an 8 from me is quite an achievement.
The director infuses Suzhou river with a dreamy, Chungking Express like beauty and melodrama. Think Chungking with no less big name stars, less stylish directing, stonger and more cohesive plot, and a more memorable love story.
Zhou Xun is excellent as the twin roles and the cool first person (i mean really first person like you are viewing thru yr eyes) perspective employed realy adds to the power of the movie.
