Review of Super Fly (1972) by Zack [Wanted] — 05 Aug 2008

Watch closely and you'll see the biggest afro ever that wasn't a wig. This is reputedly the first blaxploitation pic. I thought Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song had that distinction but you can discuss that among yourselves.

This film has extremely low production values. I think it was made for $1.98 or something like that. It has a truly badass Eldorado, some wicked clothing, a very erotic love scene, a really cool sound track (thanks to Curtis Mayfield) and for me it was extremely enjoyable.

Superfly had "a plan to stick it to the Man!" and he did and this movie is Superfly.
