Review of Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) by Steve S — 21 Nov 2009
***1/2 (out of four).
Adult-oriented drama about an unusual love triangle by the John Schlesinger, the director of "Midnight Cowboy.".
Peter Finch was nominated for an Oscar for his part of a doctor who is having an affair with a young man (Murray Head). The young man is also seeing a sophisticated woman (Glenda Jackson, also nominated). They are all aware of each other.
The script is tight and the acting is superb. It does seem little dated now, but was very bold for its time. Years later Muuray Head went on to sing the Top 10 hit from the 80's "One Night in Bangkok".
