Review of Submarino (2010) by Tom D — 26 Jan 2011
A deep insight into a broken family life. The story is set by the alcoholic mother coming back from a night on the town.
swearing and cussing at her 2 sons while they have literally been left holding the baby.
Circumstances lead both brothers to like to surround themselves by damaged goods presumably to feel more emotionally secure and both set out to destroy themselves appropiately.
When a movie moves one to the point that they want to find out what else that director has done (Thomas Vinterberg with Festen) then it certainly is worth watching. The acting is excellent from all ages and the movie shows so well how a bad upbringing can set the stage for the rest of ones life.
