Review of Starlet (2012) by Mark N — 14 May 2013
This indie film sets to stun its audience. A story about 2 women, which their worlds are very far apart try to be each others friend.
The story is so simple that it hardly climbs to a climax but the details of both characters' world keep the audience "shockingly" fresh.
The honesty in this film is, so far, the best I've seen. Thanks to Dree Hemingway & Besedka Johnson as the two main characters in the film, which are so real and simple (and that's what makes it so "shocking"). While Sean S. Baker is the master behind all this.
