Review of Six Shooter (2004) by Jani H — 25 Jul 2008
From the maker of 'In Bruges' (maybe the best film of this year?), his directorial debut, a black comedy short film of death. Death comes in various ways, suicide, natural, illness etc, affecting everyone involved in the story.
It's pacing is perfect, there's always something going on. The motormouth telling his crappy stories or the persons living with their grief and wondering what will happen to them next. It's plain, it's simple and it works. It goes sometimes a way bit over the top but who cares? Provocative things just work for me!
And finally a reminder. Martin McDonagh is a name every film enthusiast should remember, he already has a masterpiece (In Bruges) done. What next?
