Review of Singham (2011) by Ajayesh S — 24 Jul 2011
If you are a fan of old fashioned Dishoom-dishoom movies that Bollywood used to churn out in the era of Amitabh- Dharam-Shatru then you'll love this flick. Coming from the sons of two of the best fight-masters in Bollywood, Veeru Devgan and Shetty, this is an awesome flick filled with some of the best action stunts and fight scenes seen in Hindi cinema in recent times especially post Dabangg.
The songs are mediocre (especially the total mismatch of the singer voice to the stars in the movie), the romance is hardly present and the storyline is downright ridiculous. But the bright parts of the flick are the superb ensemble acting by a plethora of Marathi cinema regulars and ofcourse Ajay Devgan in a role which harks back to the days of Phool aur Kaante.
Being an action junkie, I loved this flick. Mala khoopach aavadla re aani jar tumhaala pan dhokha satakla picture aavdath asel tar tumhi pan yala paahaycha.
