Review of Shotgun Stories (2007) by Sam W — 30 Jul 2008
A great thriller with an effective sense of dread in every scene. Its only flaw is that it can come off as dull sometimes in its attempts to be ultra-realistic and naturalistic. Although it does not always work, this film's strive for naturalism is still daring and admirable nonetheless.
Michael Shannon also delivers a haunting performance and creates a tragic character.
