Review of Route Irish (2011) by Codie E — 16 Mar 2011
Another very worthy and noble film from Loach and Laverty. However, the film is hindered by the central character of Fergus. I understand the need to have such a character at the heart of the film and softening him would have been a compromise but I really disliked him and became frustrated with his constant tirades and hot headed actions.
Not one of Loach's best but still a better film than the majority of films playing at your local multiplex.
