Review of Rosetta (1999) by John E — 12 Nov 2007
Somewhat of a remake of Bresson's Mouchette, it's about as raw and dramatically-violent as a film can get. Bresson's film was subtle and sorrowfully-meditative, the Dardennes' Rosetta is a punch in the face in comparison. A must-see.
