Review of Robot Carnival (1987) by Timothy M — 14 Sep 2009
A film that manages to visually conceptualize humanity through tales of seemingly lifeless beings. Certain films are symbolic as they unravel, certain films are basic and are exactly what they appear to be.
Some of the cartoons included will give you a sense of eerie familiarity with the characters and their situations, some of the cartoons will amuse you with their naturalistic tomfoolery. It's neither exploitive of idiotic vulgarities nor is it an overdose of explanation and an attempt to make you feel more intelligent for watching it.
It's just a great movie, because it tempts your imagination.
