Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Shanna U — 06 Jan 2012
Its an unusual movie! But in a time where most films are sequels, remakes, or mindless drivel repeating the same boring plots with bigger explosions...being unusual is a good thing! I'm not what you might think the typical REPO fan is.
I never wear black and I know very little about the harder side of rock music. But I do have a vocal background and even when you take the industrial rock and styling out of the mix, there's a great classic story with interesting characters interacting in an interesting world.
This isn't SAW with music. Its not Rocky Horror Picture Show. No offense against Rocky but without a group of people, I have no desire to watch it. I could watch REPO over and over again. I laughed, I cheered, I even teared up at the end.
Its amazing to see filmmakers taking a chance and then taking the extra effort to bring it to the public. REPO was nothing short of an experience.
