Review of Raze (2013) by Thomas L — 23 Jan 2014
Raze most certainly has it's flaws, but it is hardly bereft of finer moments. The performances are generally good, though the script is lacking some finesse. One might easily peg this as a sadistic experience of the torture porn variety, and I can't argue that, however.
.. I think it poses some interesting moral questions. Each of the women handle their predicament in their own way. I found the addition of the obligatory female villain a little over the top, but it is necessary so as the plot can properly progress.
The violence, although occasionally quite graphic, is more implied than gratuitous. The ending is unsatisfactory, and leaves a few things hanging.. but it is what it is.. as they say.
