Two engineers out of four realise that they have accidentally created a machine which actually is a time machine. But unlike other machines from fictions this machine has a very different method for "travelling" in time.
The movie has fantastic elements of science fiction, and philosophy but Carruth portrayed scientific discovery and whole movie in a down-to-earth, and realistic manner.
