Review of Piku (2015) by Gaurav S — 15 May 2015

I went to watch Piku with absolutely no clue about the film, was so glad to see it's a Shoojit Sircar film, and it turned out to be one of the finest written films in the last few years. The entire film heavily depends on writing & performances and everything falls into place so nicely.

I absolutely hate Deepika Padukone, but off late she has managed few not-so-mainstream roles very well. She is like Rohit Sharma, you give n number of opportunities, double century to maar hi dega kabhi. Deepika Padukone now understands her comfort zone, on a likert scale she can't be on either extremes but she is in complete control in the middle. Amitabh Bacchan is a natural while Irrfan does an enjoyably smooth job.

Will consider this Shoojit Sircar's finest, recommended.
