Review of Perrier's Bounty (2009) by Mikael K — 05 Jul 2013
I love these kinds of films! As a rule movies about criminals and cops and oner-liners and people pointing at each other with guns do very little for me. But there is this certain, mostly British subgenre that often manages to be so completelely clever and endearingly amusing that I absolutely love every second of a film based superficially on just the kinds of elements I usually find endlessly tedious. Thank you Guy Richie and pals, you hit a secret sweetspot I have somewhere withing my cognition.
"Perrier's Bounty" is exactly the sort of flick I described above. Absolutely lovable. And it has Brendan Gleeson, an actor guaranteed to make a quirky concept like this work. And ever talented Cillian Murphy as a bonus. Silly on the surface but oh so witty and perfectly paced.
