Review of Performance (1970) by Adam Z — 01 Sep 2007
Not always an easy film to get one's head around, but that remains part of its hypnotizing charm. If you are a fan of the way Roeg's other films are edited, than 'Performance' is the one that takes the technique to its highest peaks.
James Fox is a revelation, and although Mick Jagger's ability is limited, his credentials as a genuine rock star lend his part plenty of weight. One of those movies that can be re-watched and re-evaluated with each new viewing.
