Review of Patton (1970) by Jonathan F — 28 Feb 2008
This is, in my opinion, the quintessential war film. Yes, better than The Longest Day, The Great Escape, Midway and Torra, Torra, Torra! To this day, this film is sets such a high mark for war films that few can ever reach it.
George C. Scott is simply outstanding, winning the Oscar for Best Actor and refusing to accept the award. Karl Malden gives one of his all time great performances as Bradley. Although a long movie, it's well worth the time.
