Review of New York, New York (1977) by Becky K — 22 Mar 2008
I like this movie. Sometimes I watch it on dvd. And every single time I do, I wonder why I watched it.
It's so long. I don't get Martin Scorsese's work. He's so long and dull and self indulgent. I don't get it.
But.
The reason I like this movie is because I love this period of time. Love the costumes, love the music, love the glamour, the whole thing. I love Liza Minnelli when she is wraped up in costumes, music and glamour. I can't help it. I love things about this movie.
But it's so long. It's so self indulgent. I get so bored. Thank God for dvd and the skip button.
Still. The acting is really nuanced.
