Review of Mystery Train (1989) by Harry T — 16 Jun 2007
Jarmusch is so hit and miss but I must say that this flick gets it right. It's his best (followed closely by 'Night On Earth'). I love the assorted vignettes and the acting is really good, even Joe Strummer and Screamin' Jay Hawkins do well.
I have a thing for movies with a certain atmosphere - sometimes that's even more important than the actual story. And considering that the storyline here is minimal, I just like following these characters around Memphis.
A great introduction to Jarmusch.
