Review of My Summer of Love (2005) by Cheryl N — 03 Dec 2006
A sweet, heart-warming film that just made me go "ugh". I was hoping for a nice ending, where the two leads, Tasmin and Mona, either stay together or separate while still in love. But the end we got is something I find hard to comprehend.
We see the born-again Christian brother straying to his old ways when all along he's been depicted as "holy". and then there's the shocker of the appearance of Sadie, who is apparently very much alive.
Tasmin was sadistic and cruel to even suggest that her sister was dead, much less deliberately mislead Mona into thinking so. despite her character in here, I think Emily Blunt did a fabulous job.
