Review of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (2013) by Sarah M — 23 Jun 2013
This movie was way more enjoyable than the fans made it out to be. I know that bronies hate change, but this was way, way better than what they were thinking at all! It had a lot of inside jokes, fandom jokes, and maintained the mood of the series only with a different setting.
Twilight's ascendance to the position of princess doesn't change her a bit and we actually get some great character development from her in that regard. Any fans of the Mane Six won't be let down.
Everyone was in character. It even made me really like Rarity, who used to be my least favorite pony. Fluttershy was adorable and I think that she was the one who really shined out of all of them. There's even an appearance by Trixie! Stay after the credits for a very special treat that my theater actually applauded for!
