Review of Munich (2005) by Jerard W — 06 Feb 2010
Next to Schindler's List and E.T., this is one of Spielberg's best movies and shows his great strength as not only a director but most importantly as a story teller.
This movie is a hybrid of a suspense thriller with psychological character drama of what this secret squad does after that terrible day at the 1972 Olympics. Spielberg's use of imagery is subtle, precise and memorable much like an assassins bullet.
One of the most memorable series of scenes in the movie is takes place at a Safe House that is housing both the Secret Israeli and Palestine assassins where they are both trying to find something to listen to on the radio. It's a wonderful turning point in the movie that have me reflect on this historical battle between the two cultures and have me question every motive from that point forward.
