In his last film Senegalese director Ousmane Sembène handles female circumcision or correctly female genital mutilation. It is very hard but important subject, while in some African countries 90% of women is mutilated.
Fortunately there is also much humor to prevent the movie to be too heavy. It is also interesting to watch African culture with joy, singind and dance. The score by Boncana Maïga is magnificant.
